01 / What's changed

  • The Scottish Government has accepted the Review Body on Doctors' and Dentists' Remuneration (DDRB) recommendations in full for 2026/27.
  • GPs, consultants, specialty, specialist and SAS doctors, and dentists get a 3.5% increase. Salaried community and public dental staff get 3.75%.
  • The award is backdated to 1 April 2026 and was expected to reach salaries at the end of September.

02 / Who it affects

GP practices in Scotland, including partners and practices that employ salaried GPs. The announcement does not say how the uplift reaches practices or whether it covers other practice staff. It is separate from the £531 million general practice funding package agreed in October 2025, which the government says is not a pay deal.
