Privacy notice

This notice explains what data On the Record collects and why. On the Record is published by Abtrace.

Reading the site

  • We do not use cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
  • Our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services, keeps standard server logs (IP address, page requested, browser type and time). We keep these for 90 days to run and secure the site, then they are deleted.
  • If you tick items on a post's checklist, that is saved only in your own browser. It is never sent to us.

The weekly email

If you sign up for the Tuesday email:

  • What we collect: your email address, the date you signed up and confirmed, which page you signed up on, and the version of the sign-up wording you agreed to. We do not record your IP address.
  • Why: only to send you the weekly email. We do not use it for sales and we do not pass it to anyone else.
  • Lawful basis: your consent. You confirm it by clicking the link in the email we send when you sign up.
  • Where it is held: in Amazon Web Services in London (eu-west-2). Amazon Web Services acts as our processor.
  • How long: until you unsubscribe. If you do not confirm your sign-up within 7 days, we delete it. When you unsubscribe, we delete your address and keep only a one-way code so we do not email you again by mistake.
  • Unsubscribing: use the link at the bottom of any email. It takes one click.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw consent at any time. Contact dpo@abtrace.co.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
