Approve locum pension forms promptly and prepare for year end

• PCSE is asking practices to review Locum A forms quickly. A locum GP cannot complete a Locum B form or pay pension contributions until the practice approves the Locum A.
• Under NHS Pension Scheme rules, freelance locum work that ended more than 10 weeks ago cannot be pensioned, so practice delays can cost locums pension.
• PCSE expects the 2025/26 Type 2 self-assessment form to be available in PCSE Online in November 2026. Nothing needs submitting yet.
