## What's changed

- PCSE is asking practices to review Locum A forms quickly. A locum GP cannot complete a Locum B form or pay pension contributions until the practice approves the Locum A.
- Under NHS Pension Scheme rules, freelance locum work that ended more than 10 weeks ago cannot be pensioned, so practice delays can cost locums pension.
- PCSE expects the 2025/26 Type 2 self-assessment form to be available in PCSE Online in November 2026. Nothing needs submitting yet.

## Who it affects

GP practices in England that use freelance locum GPs, plus salaried GPs and partners who will complete 2025/26 end of year forms.

## What to do

- Check who holds the GPP Locum Applications role in PCSE Online and give it to more than one person to cover leave.
- Clear any Locum A forms waiting for approval.
- Ask your GPs to confirm they can log in to PCSE Online before the forms open.
- Ask GPs to check, under Performers List and then Performer Management, that they were linked to the right practices for 2025/26, and correct any errors now.
